NFL Divisional Round Reactions

The second round of the NFL playoffs told a different tale than Wildcard Weekend. After home teams went 1-3 in the playoffs opening weekend, they won, often in impressive fashion, going 4-0 in the Divisional Round. Four home teams, four favorites, four high-scoring offenses. The Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, and New Orleans Saints all held 6-2, 7-1, or 8-0 home records in the regular season, and they carried the home-field advantage into the playoffs. In my personal picks, I went 3-1, incorrectly predicting the LA Rams would slip up and allow the Dallas Cowboys to advance. The most exciting and close game was between the Eagles and Saints, with New Orleans winning by a score and Nick Foles nearly pulling off a game-winning drive. My Playoff Week 2 Picks #Chiefs over #Colts ✅ #Cowboys over #Rams ❌ #Patriots over #Chargers ✅ #Saints over #Eagles ✅ Last week’s record: 3-1 Playoff record: 6-2 — Sak Sports Blog (@SakSports) January 14, ...

Tom Brady and LeBron James are Still GOATS, Despite Championship Losses

The Greatest of All Time. One of the hottest, most opinionated topics in all of sports. Experts and fans alike attempt to compare players across generations in hopes of crowning the best the sport has ever seen. Two of the greatest American professional sports athletes of all-time are playing right in front of our eyes: Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. James has been in the conversation with Michael Jordan for greatest basketball player of all-time, and with his 8th Super Bowl appearance, it's hard to put Brady anywhere but the top of the greatest quarterbacks ever. But wait, don't these two players have a history of choking in championship appearances? Doesn't this tarnish their legacies? The answer to both questions is a resounding "No." Many purists argue that Joe Montana, with a perfect 4-0 Super Bowl record, and Michael Jordan, 6-0 in the NBA Finals, are the greatest because of th...

Last Minute Super Bowl Preview: Can Eagles Down the Patriots?

It's been 13 days since the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles clinched their respective conference championships, and the clock is ticking down to Super Bowl LII in Minnesota. Now that we've had two weeks to anticipate the matchup, who will take home the Lombardi trophy on Sunday night? Game Information Time: 6:30 PM ET / 3:30 PM PT TV: NBC Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota Line: Patriots by 4.5 (Current) Patriots by 6.0 (Opening) Patriots Super Bowl Record: 5-4 Eagles Super Bowl Record: 0-2 How They Got Here Courtesy of USA Today Both the Patriots and Eagles finished the season with identical 13-3 records, leading their conference, earning the #1 seed and advancing to the Super Bowl. But it was hardly the same path for both teams. New England stumbled out of the gate, dropping a rare home opener and starting 2-2 on the season. Questions of a Super Bowl hangover were raised, and with Julian Edelman out for the y...

Top 5 Quarterback Performances in Week 10

The NFL's 10th week will conclude tonight with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers. While there could be another strong quarterback performance there, we're gonna run down the five best passing days so far this week.  Jared Goff tore up the opposing defense for the second straight week. Kirk Cousins and Case Keenum both had solid days through the air in a 38-30 shootout in Washington. Even as his Giants fell to 1-8, Eli Manning didn't have a bad day in San Fransisco. But which five quarterbacks had the most impressive performances? 5. Matthew Stafford 17-26, 249 Yards 3 TD, 1 INT 65.4% completion, 118.9 rating Things didn't look great early against the Cleveland Browns, as Stafford and the Detroit Lions quickly fell in a 10-0 hole to the winless team. The Lions would outscore the Browns 38-14 after that point, largely behind the throwing arm of Matthew Stafford. Stafford had the 4th highest ...
