Last Minute Super Bowl Preview: Can Eagles Down the Patriots?

It's been 13 days since the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles clinched their respective conference championships, and the clock is ticking down to Super Bowl LII in Minnesota. Now that we've had two weeks to anticipate the matchup, who will take home the Lombardi trophy on Sunday night? Game Information Time: 6:30 PM ET / 3:30 PM PT TV: NBC Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota Line: Patriots by 4.5 (Current) Patriots by 6.0 (Opening) Patriots Super Bowl Record: 5-4 Eagles Super Bowl Record: 0-2 How They Got Here Courtesy of USA Today Both the Patriots and Eagles finished the season with identical 13-3 records, leading their conference, earning the #1 seed and advancing to the Super Bowl. But it was hardly the same path for both teams. New England stumbled out of the gate, dropping a rare home opener and starting 2-2 on the season. Questions of a Super Bowl hangover were raised, and with Julian Edelman out for the y...

NFL Conference Championships Preview and Predictions

Nearly every game of the 2018 NFL Playoffs has been close, and many have featured epic finishes. Hopefully this streak continues into championship weekend, as the final four teams square off for a chance to play in Super Bowl LII. Will the Minnesota Vikings become the first team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium? Or will the Philadelphia Eagles prove the doubters wrong once again behind Nick Foles? As Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play in their 7th-straight AFC Championship game, will they reach back-to-back Super Bowls? Or will Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars continue their Cinderella run all the way to the big game? So far in the playoffs, I'm 5-3 picking games, so I'll look to be 7-3 after this weekend. There's plenty of storylines and drama, but only four potential Super Bowl matchups. Which two teams will meet on February 4th? Read on for my picks. Jacksonville Jaguars (12-6) at New England Patriots (14-3) ...

How High Can the Eagles Fly Without Carson Wentz?

The Philadelphia Eagles maintained the best record in the league with a 43-35 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, but at a high cost. MVP candidate Carson Wentz tore his ACL, and though he stayed in to throw a touchdown on 4th and goal, he's been ruled out for the rest of the season and will likely miss the start of 2018. Enter Nick Foles. In his second stint with the Eagles, Foles has been handed the keys to the team many have called the best in football throughout the season. Philadelphia's defense gives up the 5th least points per game (19.2)  and even minus Wentz, their offense has weapons like LeGarette Blount, Jay Ajayi, Alshon Jeffrey, Torrey Smith, and Nelson Agholor. So Foles basically has to come in and keep the ship afloat, making some skilled throws when possible but most importantly, taking care of the football. In 13 games, Wentz only had nine turnovers (seven interceptions and two lost fumbles.) Ball security will be huge for Foles, and I'm sur...

Top Five Super Bowl Favorites According to Vegas

The NFL season is entering it's 14th week, and playoff talk is heating up. In this year more than ever, plenty of teams will be competing for the Lombardi trophy.  The Los Angeles Rams, leading the NFC West at 9-3, and New Orleans Saints, who are 9-3 atop the NFC South, and Minnesota Vikings, tied at a league-best 10-2, were hardly expected to compete for the title coming into the season. Things have gone a little more predictably in the AFC, with the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers leading the pack. Still, the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars looked poised to make playoff runs as well. Who does Las Vegas see as the favorites to win Super Bowl LII in Minnesota? (Source: Westgate Las Vegas Superbook) 5. Tied: Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints (12-1) The Seattle Seahawks have been a perennial contender under Russell Wilson, but had to bounce back from a shaky start to get to where they are now. Despite a 1-2 start and losing two ...
