Patriots Quickly Lose Underdog Status in Fluctuating Vegas Line

Championship Sunday gave us two wild overtime games with the winners set to meet in two weeks at Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta. On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Rams opened as slight one point favorites, which would have had Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play the underdog role once again. The line quickly shifted to a pick 'em game. This feels like the most accurate reflection of the game's odds. While the Rams finished with a better regular season schedule, Brady and the Patriots are playing in their third straight Super Bowl and it would be tough to call them true underdogs. As Monday progressed, bettors started shifting the line in favor of the Patriots, likely to reflect early bets. Many bettors probably saw taking an underdog Patriots team as an easy bet. The line could go even deeper in New England's favor, or perhaps balance out closer to a pick 'em. Realistically, the line won't favor either team by more than 1 or 2 points, making it essentia...

Colin Kaepernick Stars in Nike Commerical Ahead of 2018 NFL Season

Two days after launching their 30th annual "Just do it" campaign, Nike has released a commercial starring Colin Kaepernick, about defying the odds and never settling on the path to success. The commercial is set to air ahead of the NFL opener between the Atlanta Falcons and Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. With Kaepernick's Nike sponsorship already coming under heavy fire and debate on social media, the commercial will potentially spark more controversy and dialogue on the season's opening night. Kaepernick tweeted out the video Wednesday afternoon: Believe i...

Comparing LeBron James at 33 to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant

On December 30, 2017, LeBron James will celebrate his 33rd birthday in his 15th NBA season. Comparisons to the all-time greats have been nothing short of inevitable lately, so his birthday begs the question: how does the Cleveland Cavaliers forward matchup at 33 with two players he's been compared to his entire career: Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant? For purposes of these comparisons, we'll even give Jordan and Bryant the upper-hand by considering their careers through the conclusion of their age 33 season. That means LeBron James has four months and another postseason to add on to his already legendary pedigree. We'll start off with a category LeBron trails in: championship rings.  At 33 years old, Michael Jordan was putting the finishing touches on the second of three straight championships, which was his 5th championship win in as many appearances. This was Jordan's 12th season in the league. Kobe Bryant also had all five of his rings at age 33....
