NFL Week 4 Picks

Week 4 games, while still early, will tell us a lot about which teams have serious playoff aspirations. Specifically, the outcomes of Rams-Vikings, Steelers-Ravens, and Dolphins-Patriots will tell us a lot about the potential playoff picture. In Week 3, my rough early season continued as I went 7-9. I had some good picks, including the Seahawks, Bears, Chiefs, and Ravens, but stumbled on some picks, incorrectly predicting the Texans over Giants, Jets over Browns, and Raiders over Dolphins. I'll try to fare better in Week 4, and there's definitely a few toss-ups that are even more confusing as we don't know who these teams really  are yet. Specifically, Vikings-Rams, Buccaneers-Bears, Steelers-Ravens, and Lions-Cowboys will tell us a lot about the true identity of those teams involved. You can read all my Week 3 picks here if you'd like. And without further ado, onward to Week 4! Thursday Night Minnesota Vikings (1-1-1) at Los Angeles Rams (3-0) In the

NFL Week 3 Picks

After a half-decent Week 1, I staggered with my Week 2 picks, going 5-10-1 to bring my season total to 13-17-2. Picking Week 2 games can be even harder than Week 1 games, in my opinion. While opening week games may seem like blind picks, Week 2 picks become difficult as we begin to play the "who beats who" game. In Week 3 that will either make it difficult again, or make a little more sense as we begin to see who these teams really are. Week 3 definitely has a lot of matchups that seem close to even on paper, so this could be another rough week, or a potentially rewarding one. Thursday Night New York Jets (1-1) at Cleveland Browns (0-1-1) This is actually one of the most pain-staking picks of the week. The Browns have played to a nearly even -3 margin through two weeks, battling the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints. At home, against a rookie quarterback, could they finally break through with a win? The Jets have looked up and down through two games against

Five Contenders for Worst Team in the NFL

Week 2 isn't even completely in the books yet, so naturally it's never too early to judge which teams will hold the worst records and the top picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. At time of writing, ten teams are without a win (which will drop to nine after the Seahawks or Bears win on Monday Night.) But they don't all make this list, these teams have a distinct possibility of finishing with few wins after a slow start. Buffalo Bills (0-2) The Bills hold a -55 point differential through two weeks, the worst in the league. And their opponents, the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers, are both only 1-1. There is much tougher competition on the way. Between Nathan Peterman and rookie Josh Allen, Buffalo's offense has a ways to go, putting up a whopping 23 points through two weeks. With AFC East rivals still on the gauntlet, wins could be few and far between for Buffalo. Until the end of the season where they'll win some meaningless games or spoil a rival's s

NFL Week 2 Picks

Week 1 saw a mix of action across the NFL. I was duped by impressive performances by the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins. While the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins won on the road, these picks were more toss-ups than pure upsets. With the Cleveland Browns ironic tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers, I finished Week 1 with a record of 8-7-1 . Let's see if I can outperform myself in Week 2! My picks are highlighted in bold. For a score prediction and reason for picking who I did, follow me on Sak Sports Blog! Thursday Night Baltimore Ravens (1-0)  at Cincinnati Bengals (1-0) Sunday Carolina Panthers (1-0) at  Atlanta Falcons (0-1) Los Angeles Chargers (0-1)  at Buffalo Bills (0-1) Minnesota Vikings (1-0) at  Green Bay Packers (1-0) Houston Texans (0-1)  at Tennessee Titans (0-1) Cleveland Browns (0-0-1) at  New Orleans Saints (0-1) Miami Dolphins (1-0) at  New York Jets (1-0) Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) at  Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0-1)

NFL Week 2 Picks and Week 1 Recap

The 2018-2019 NFL season is underway, and through one week we've seen the usual contenders, some hot rookies, some disappointing team performances, and an incredible primetime comeback from Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Before looking to Week 2, let's see how I made out in Week 1: I still need to get my NFL record predictions out, but I work all day 😥For tonight’s game though, I’m locking in my pick of #Eagles over #Falcons . — Sak Sports Blog (@SakSports) September 6, 2018 While I didn't predict a score here, the Eagles ultimately won this Thursday night slugfest 18-12 behind two touchdowns from Jay Ajayi. 1-0 #Ravens 24 #Bills 9 Buffalo struggles in the season opener while Joe Flacco and company start off a productive year — Sak Sports Blog (@SakSports) September 9, 2018 The Ravens won and the Bills offense definitely struggled. I correctly predicted no Buffalo touchdowns, but they only mustered three points in an abysmal quarterback

Colin Kaepernick Stars in Nike Commerical Ahead of 2018 NFL Season

Two days after launching their 30th annual "Just do it" campaign, Nike has released a commercial starring Colin Kaepernick, about defying the odds and never settling on the path to success. "Don't just become the best basketball player of all-time" Kaepernick narrates over footage of LeBron James, a kid from Akron, Ohio. "Be bigger than basketball," he continues as James opens his promise school, an accomplishment he called the most important of his career. Kaepernick sheds light on touching and inspirational stories of Shaquem Griffin and Serena Williams. The commercial is set to air ahead of the NFL opener between the Atlanta Falcons and Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. With Kaepernick's Nike sponsorship already coming under heavy fire and debate on social media, the commercial will potentially spark more controversy and dialogue on the season's opening night. Kaepernick tweeted out the video Wednesday afternoon: Believe i
