Cameron Maybin Steals a Taco for America

Taco Bell has continued their "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" campaign for the 2017 World Series between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers. If any player steals a base during the series, United States Taco Bell locations will give away a free Doritos Locos Taco. After no bases were swiped in Game 1, Cameron Maybin of the Astros stole one in Game 2, earning free tacos for all of America. These tacos will be of the Doritos Locos line, meaning the hard shell is made out of Doritos and available in Cool Ranch, Nacho Cheese, or Fiery varieties. Free tacos will be available November 1 from 2-6 PM at participating locations while supplies last. No purchase is necessary but there is a limit of one free taco per person. Taco Bell has triggered this giveaway in each of the last six seasons. It's all but guaranteed the giveaway will take place each year, as 99 of the past 100 World Series have featured a stolen base by either team, with the 1944 World Series bet

The Hypothetical Eli Manning to the Jaguars Trade

Let's be clear: New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning isn't going anywhere despite the team's 1-5 start. But that doesn't mean we can't think about a trade that NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah posed. (Note: This post was written prior to New York and Jacksonville’s Week 7 NFL matchups, all stats and records reflect the team’s first six games) On October 9, Jeremiah posted this tweet, sparking conversations about the hypothetical trade: If you're Tom Coughlin/David Caldwell, would you make a call to Giants & ask what it would cost to acquire Eli Manning? — Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) October 9, 2017 Manning already responded to the rumors, saying he doesn't want to leave New York at all.  The longtime Giants quarterback also has a no-trade clause in his contract that we would have to waive to even make the deal possible. This is the sports world, where "what if's?" can be debated endlessly, so let's like a

How does Gordon Hayward's Injury Affect the Celtics Season?

The Boston Celtics lost more than just the game to the Cleveland Cavaliers on opening night, as small forward Gordon Hayward, a key acquisition this summer, suffered a devastating injury. Hayward was going up for an alley-oop attempt and came down hard, landing on his leg and not being able to get back up. Many initially feared Hayward had broken his leg, which would've have certainly ended his season.  The official diagnosis that the Celtics have announced is a dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia , or shinbone. Dislocated ankles aren't uncommon in the NBA, and usually sideline a player for at least 6-8 weeks. The bone fracture poses a much larger threat to Hayward's recovery time, as it can take anywhere from 3-6 months to heal. CBS Sports talked with certified athletic trainer Jeff Stotts. He said in an absolute best-case scenario, Hayward could start rehabbing in about 12 weeks. This would be in early January, and give him a realistic chance of returni

Ranking the Warriors Competition this Season

After three straight NBA Finals appearances, two championships, and the best regular season in NBA history, it should be no surprise that the Warriors are the team all other NBA teams aspire to beat. Golden State didn't add any major pieces this summer but are still overwhelming favorites to win the West and most likely the NBA championship. Which teams have the best chance of dethroning the Warriors in a seven game series? 5. Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason, trading point guard Isiah Thomas and forward Jae Crowder to the Cavaliers for star Kyrie Irving. Boston also added Gordon Hayward in free agency to create a truly star-studded lineup. PG Kyrie Irving SG Jaylen Brown  SF Gordon Hayward PF Marcus Morris C Al Horford This starting five honestly has the ability to play toe-to-toe with Warriors and maybe even beat them on any given night.  But in a best-of-seven series? Forget about it. Even

Can NFL Teams Legally Force Players to Stand for National Anthem?

Although less  players are protesting during the National Anthem with each passing week since President Trump's initial comments, the controversy seems to be far from over. This week the debate rages on as some teams are starting to enact protocol for players during the National Anthem. So far, the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys have made it clear players are to stand for the National Anthem. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said any player who "disrespects the flag" will promptly be benched. This begs the question: is this practice legal? The First Amendment has been brought up countless times during the ongoing controversy. The amendment protects free speech and expression, so shutting down a protest during the National Anthem would violate that amendment, right? It's not that straightforward. The First Amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the

Are the Giants the Worst Team in the NFL?

After years of underachieving, the New York Giants went 11-5 in 2016, losing to the Green Bay Packers in the Wildcard round. With head coach Ben McAdoo entering his second season, the addition of wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and the core of the playoff team intact, the Giants were expected to make another run for the playoffs this year, maybe even the Super Bowl. Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been quoted, now infamously, for saying he didn't see a reason why the Giants wouldn't go 16-0. Fast forward to October. The Giants are 0-4 and alone at the bottom of the NFC East. Forget the NFC East, they are tied for the NFL's worst record and are more likely to win a top draft pick than a playoff spot. Week One was a tough loss to the Dallas Cowboys, as the Giants fell 19-3 and couldn't sustain any offense without Odell Beckham. Week Two featured an embarrassing loss, as there are many ways the Giants could have managed to defeat the Detroit Lions on t
