Recapping the Enes Kanter-LeBron James Beef So Far

LeBron James started a debate that's blown up into an all-out feud with New York Knicks center Enes Kanter. The drama led to an exciting game in Madison Square Garden, where the Cleveland Cavaliers overcame a 23 point deficit to beat the Knicks 104-101, adding more fuel to the fire.

The quarrel started when James suggested the Knicks made a big mistake by drafting point guard Frank Ntilikina, rather than current Dallas Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. "He should be a Knick. That's going to make some headlines, but he should be a Knick. Dallas is definitely, I know they're excited that he didn't go there," LeBron said, referring to Smith Jr. after a game against the Mavericks.

The Knicks didn't take kindly to these comments, defending their 19-year-old rookie. He said:
"I don't care who, I just cannot let anyone disrespect my family like that, because when I play for an organization, I see my teammates and that organization as like a family. And it doesn't matter if it's LeBron or whoever it is, I cannot just let him disrespect him like that. The coaches, the GMs, the president, this organization knows what they're doing. ... I mean, come on. That's a rookie. You cannot just say anything like that about him."
James would go on to elaborate that the comments were intended as an insult to Phil Jackson, not Ntilikina. In response to Kanter, the Cavaliers forward said:
I found these comments especially provoking: "[he's] always got something to say. I don't know what's wrong with him."

The beef was already getting heated, but then the Knicks hosted the Cavaliers on Monday night.

During the game, James bumped into Knicks rookie Ntilikina, who showed he wouldn't take the situation passively by shoving back. Kanter was quick to rush to his teammates defense, and the two got in each other's faces before being separated.

The Knicks led by as many as 23 in Madison Square Garden, but the Cavaliers stormed back in the fourth quarter behind 18 points from Kyle Korver. The game had a dramatic finish, with James drilling a game-winning three-pointer over Kristaps Porzingis.

For a November game between the Cavaliers and Knicks, you really can't ask for more drama. But James and Kanter didn't stop chirping after the game.
"What do you call yourself, King, Queen, Princess...we're going to fight." Kanter said, not holding back at all. James responded playfully but Kanter's disdain for James seems to be growing even larger.

Finally, James took to Instagram to deliver his final insult (for now) to the Knicks, calling himself the King of New York.
"You're welcome..[King] of NY #myfavoriteplayground #striveforgreatness"

Patriots Quickly Lose Underdog Status in Fluctuating Vegas Line

Championship Sunday gave us two wild overtime games with the winners set to meet in two weeks at Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta. On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Rams opened as slight one point favorites, which would have had Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play the underdog role once again. The line quickly shifted to a pick 'em game. This feels like the most accurate reflection of the game's odds. While the Rams finished with a better regular season schedule, Brady and the Patriots are playing in their third straight Super Bowl and it would be tough to call them true underdogs. As Monday progressed, bettors started shifting the line in favor of the Patriots, likely to reflect early bets. Many bettors probably saw taking an underdog Patriots team as an easy bet. The line could go even deeper in New England's favor, or perhaps balance out closer to a pick 'em. Realistically, the line won't favor either team by more than 1 or 2 points, making it essentia

NBA Predictions: Playoff Teams, Awards, and Finals Matchup

The 2018-19 NBA season brings some much desired intrigue to the regular season. Without LeBron James, the East will send a new team to the Finals for the first time in eight years. In the West, the Rockets try to close the gap on the Warriors with the addition of Carmelo Anthony. And of course the biggest story: how will LeBron James fare with the Los Angeles Lakers? A new Finals matchup, an exciting MVP race, fresh rookies, and stars on new teams give plenty of reasons to watch the NBA regular season. Here are my predictions for the 16 playoff teams, major awards, and NBA Finals outcome. Lakers Look to Avoid 0-3 Start

No one said LeBron James' arrival in Los Angeles would be smooth. The Big Three era in Miami had a shaky start, so its reasonable that the Lakers need some time to adjust with the King. The Lakers early schedule also hasn't been kind, as tonight they play their third straight Western Conference playoff team. The San Antonio Spurs (1-1) are looking good with DeMar DeRozan in tow. Vegas lists the Lakers as 1.0 home point favorites despite the fact that they're down two starters: Rajan Rondo and Brandon Ingram, after Saturday night's scuffle with Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets. Over his first two games, LeBron is averaging 25 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. His most reliable teammates have been Josh Hart (15.5 PPG) and JaVale McGee (14.5 PPG). As the season progresses, James should be building more chemistry with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Ingram. Josh Hart is the Lakers 2nd-leading scorer at 15.5 points per game. His threes off the
